Production

Partner orchards are located in the South-East region of Bulgaria, characterized by a very mild climate and 10% more sunny days than the average for Bulgaria. The autumn is warm and dry, which contributes to superior fruit ripening and high sugar content of the plums and consistently well-developed nuts in the almond orchards. We have built strong partnerships with local growers and processors all over the country, allowing us to source large quantities of quality fruits and nuts to be able to respond to consumer demand.

We strive for carefully sourced premium raw materials – the fruit selected for drying must conform to strict quality specifications, and nothing less will do.

Supplier production and warehouse are located near Burgas, which is an important commercial and logistic hub in terms of Port Burgas, the direct access to highway Burgas-Sofia and Burgas Airport

Prunes

The fresh plums are brought to the drying facility, which currently consists of 18 drying tunnels with a total capacity of 144t raw product per day. The modular design of the site enables all present production lines and auxiliary facilities to be fully operational while providing additional capacity for future expansion.

After drying, the prunes are brought to a processing facility for rehydration, pitting and packaging. Upon arrival the prunes are graded, sorted and then set aside ready to be processed.

The on-site laboratory is utilized to meticulously study, measure and document all technical details of each batch. The facility was built in 2022 and is equipped with the latest processing equipment and maintains exemplary food safety standards.

We are IFS Broker 3.1 and Organic Handler certified and our suppliers are GFSI certified.

Almonds

Almonds are harvested in mid-September when they have reached their optimal nut size. Hulls are removed in the orchard, in order to return them to the soil.

Hull removal in the orchard accomplishes several distinct goals – by integrating the hull biomass it returns carbon back into the soil. It also minimizes carbon emissions by reducing transport weight and allows the nuts to dry quickly.

When the nuts reach specific moisture content the in-shell almonds are processed in a brand-new shelling and sorting facility.

Almonds are automatically graded and shelled based on their size, in order to minimize damage to the nut.

A laser sorter then selects and sorts the nuts based on the desired specifications, rejecting any nut defects, foreign objects or other impurities.

We pay attention to the small details and provide the best combination of quality and value, while always maintaining exemplary food safety standards.
